NIKKI SIXX Says BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION Can Go On Without Him
December 10, 2004MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx has clarified his current status in BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION and has commented on the recent war of words with his BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION bandmate Tracii Guns, who publicly referred to the new CRÜE single as "shit."
In an online posting, Sixx said, "In thinking back on my great times with Mr. Guns and gang, I have nothing but fond memories... Basically, we kicked major ass together... so now we try to kick each other's ass... Ah… the simple life… just like green acres (from hell)… so let me put it to you in a nutshell.
"I'm proud of the band. I want them to go on and kill the world. I respect Tracii as a player. We have a friendship carved in flesh with razorblades. (sometimes painful and very human)
"Yes, I'm disappointed at him for airing his opinion in public with such venom when he knows how important this is to me and the guys. I put my heart and soul into the new crue....so there I said it....disappointed in a friend… Got it??
"As far as heart and soul, I put it into the BRIDES too... I used every connection of mine for the band (got us a record deal, merch deal and world tour on my name),pulled favors and funded it myself.
"So do I believe in it?? Fuck yes. Or I wouldn't have done that for us. Do I believe they can go on without me?? Hell yes.....and trust me when I say it will rock.
"Am I gonna do the CRÜE the next 12 months??
"Fuck yes…
"What's after that??
"Who the fuck knows..
"Cross that bridge when we get there..."
